ROADHOGS ROAD RACE GRAND PRIX RULES 2009

 

1.

Club colours must be worn to be eligible for Grand Prix points. (Possible exceptions:  Pre notified Charity Run / New member – no kit / Regular runner – mislaid kit)

 

2.

GP points will only be awarded to fully paid up Roadhogs who have entered an event in their own name

 

3.

Categories – Senior Men, Vet Men, Women

 

4.

Age at the seasons first road race will determine eligibility for vets category

 

5.

A Vet man can nominate to compete in the Senior category, providing he tells a club official before the first race.

 

6.

Races to consist of all South Yorkshire League 5 mile races / Three 10Ks / Three 10 mile races / Three Half Marathons / Three Full Marathons

(A maximum of three of the five mile races to count for each individual runner)

 

7.

If a race is cancelled an alternative will be picked if practicable

 

8.

At least one race from four distances must be completed to be eligible for an award.  In the the event of a tie:

a)       Best head to head results take precedence (ie Runner who has finished ahead of rival most times)

If still equal

b)       Highest number of races run (ie Runner completing highest number of Grand Prix events in the season)

If still equal

c)       Highest number of distances run (ie Runner completing all five distances takes precedence over runner only completing four)

If still equal

d)   God must have decreed a draw!!!

 

9.

First Roadhog in each age and sex category to score 20 points, second 19, third 18 etc.

 

10.

Eight best scores count

 

11.

Five extra points for a PB

 

12.

Only one PB per distance is allowed in a year

 

13.

For PBs to come into effect, the distance must have been run in a previous year, in a Grand Prix event

 

14.

Club runners going from Seniors to Vets may reset their PBs in their first year as a Vet. PBs may be reset at reaching age 50 / 60 etc for men

PBs may be reset at reaching age 35 / 45 etc for women

Anyone beating their previous age category PB will also be awarded PB bonus points

 

15.

Eleven extra points to be awarded for competing in three of the Inter Club Cross-Country Events (7 for 2 events / 3 for 1 event )

 

16.

If a race event has separate races for different categories (eg Vets and Senior at old Barnsley 10K) individual must compete in the same category as in the Grand Prix to score points.

 

17.

The Grand Prix co-ordinator will make decisions on any dispute with regard to rules or eligibility

Individuals have a right of appeal to the Committee
